We require you to enter your email address to create CloakGuru account. No other personal identifiable information (PII) are requested.

Billing and Payment

Payment of CloakGuru alias is managed by Stripe (https://stripe.com) or Paypal (https://paypal.com). No payment information such as credit cards, billing address are stored on CloakGuru servers.

Analytics

Website Analytics is managed by Google Analytics

Cookies

CloakGuru service itself does not create or use any cookie. However, some third-party tools such as Google Analytics may create and use cookie to track users session

Inbound Emails

Emails received by CloakGuru are scanned and relevant headers (To, From) are replaced to enable a successful email forward to the recipient address configured by the user. Emails are stored encrypted on our CloakGuru servers and comply with local regulatory laws

Our default practice is to never access your data. However, there are times we may need to access your data such as:

During an investigation, when we suspect your account may be compromised or involved in illegal activity

To comply with applicable laws, if the law enforcement authorities have the necessary warrant of if we receive a court order requiring us to share data

Account Deletion

CloakGuru account and associated alias can be deleted at any time. Reach out to [email protected] for more information. Account is deleted instantly but some data may stay in our cache servers for up to 20 days after account deletion.

Use of Your Personal Data

Your Personal Data information can be used to notify you about a service change or forward emails to the recipient addresses you have configured on CloakGuru

Retention of Your Data

CloakGuru will retain Your Personal Data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We will retain and use Your Personal Data to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations (for example, if we are required to retain your data to comply with applicable laws), resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies.

CloakGuru will also retain Usage Data for internal analysis purposes. All data is encrypted via SSL/TLS when transmitted from CloakGuru to you. This includes forwarded emails or web frontend. Emails are stored at-rest with AES256 encryption key. Database is also encrypted and restricted to CloakGuru private network. All data is stored on Amazon Web Services (AWS) datacenters.
